Wrist Rehabilitation Robot

An innovative robotic sleeve for wrist rehabilitation with gamified therapy to aid patients in recovering wrist function post-injury.

Wrist Rehabilitation Robot

Overview

This project involves the development of a robotic sleeve to aid in the rehabilitation of patients suffering from wrist injuries, strokes, or other related conditions. The lightweight and portable sleeve assists wrist movements in four directions: abduction, adduction, extension, and flexion. Using this device, patients are able to engage in gamified rehabilitation exercises that encourage wrist motion while providing feedback on progress.

Key Features

Challenges Addressed

The robotic sleeve addresses common challenges such as the high cost of traditional physical therapy, therapist fatigue, and patient engagement. By using a game-based rehabilitation approach, the system not only reduces the physical burden on therapists but also improves patient motivation through interactive exercises.

Technical Specifications

Innovations in Rehabilitation

The project introduces gamification in rehabilitation, allowing patients to engage in virtual hand movements controlled by their own wrist actions. The game generates patterns and targets for the patient to reach, helping them improve their range of motion. Data is logged to track progress, making it easier for therapists and patients to visualize improvements.
